For an extra level of preservation, Heritage Time Capsules offers its own, unique Atmosphere Replacement System. This replacement atmosphere purges the time capsule of two potential causes of premature degradation: moisture and oxygen. The replacement atmosphere is non-toxic, completely inert, non-hazardous, and is an additional preservation step.

The inert gas is delivered to you in a separate, pressurized cylinder at the same time the capsule is delivered. After you load the contents into the capsule and close it, you can begin the atmosphere purging process by connecting the hose to the matching connection on the capsule. After connection is made, it is necessary to open the valve and dispense the contents of the cylinder into the time capsule. When the cylinder is empty, disconnect the tube and cap the connection port.
